We have finished an extensive sea-trial/ test program and initiated commercial production. Numerous enquiries from all over the world were received this year, and we are very much looking forward to expanding our distributor network for the season 2005!
Some test results:
Inclination tests shows that the vessel is very stable, and heel angles are very low at all loads in all conditions. The OX7.1 is approved to accommodate a total of 8 persons!
Results from speed tests with HONDA BF225 4-stroke outboard engine, Bob’s Machine Shop engine lift, customized and lab finished TURBO LIGHTNING propeller and petrol (NOTE - results approx and depending on driver skills, boat setup and propeller):
-1 person -> 53-55 knots
-2 persons -> 51-52 knots
-6 persons -> 48 knots (tested in strong head wind and waves)
-8 persons -> 46 knots (tested in strong head wind and waves)
Driving
the OX7.1
Speed loss in wind and waves is very low, and the hull is awesome in waves! It outruns larger powerboats in heavy seas! She behaves extremely well in all tested conditions! The hull does not bump, knock, chop or chine walk at any speed! There is no significant planing threshold; the hull just slides on plane!
The OX7.1 is very stable and easy to master; we can make full-speed sharp turns! Our customers and testers can perform high-speed manoeuvres with this hull, difficult to master also with larger vessels! The hull wants more, so plans are to approve the boat for engines up to 300hp, with expected top speed exceeding 60 knots!
